The bridge gods continued to be kind. We were able to time all of the remaining bridges to Carolina Beach even with a loose alternator. Good to be back in the area. Jule III moored in Carolina Beach (our old harbor) for a couple of days waiting on weather/tide to get up to Wilmington.
Left CB and headed for Bennett Brothers Yachts (BBY). Foul current and little wind suggested that we leave early for a 1400 bridge opening. Alternator was again giving us fits so we moved slowly. As we approached the Port, a really big boat (Stadt Gera) asked us to move so that he could tie up to the port. You bet! We scooted to the red as quickly as our alternator would allow. At 1400, the Holmes bridge opened and we tied up at a BBY tee head. Almost done!
Spent a week unpacking Jule and BBY was most helpful. It took 6 full days to perform the necessary 'winterizing' and cleaning of Jule III. We know we were old as everything hurt when we were done. During our Jule ordeal, we attended our church at St. Mary's. Good to be back after 13 months!
Today, Jule is hauled. Her bottom has a lot of slim but not much else. The prop is clean and nothing is broken. The hauling processing was a bit scary as there was a lot of current most of the time. Al, Chris, Oliver, and me (Bob) did a great job securing Jule. We will be here for at least 6 months. However, you will hear us on the SSB. Thanks for watching!! Jule III is 'on the hard' having many improvements and repairs performed before her March 'splash'. It is the Holiday season now, and
