28 Feb 2006, Leaving Ft Pierce, 27 28.020 N/ 080 19.660 W

We are leaving Fort Pierce on Thursday. Unfortunately, Moony will not be with us! The motor did not do well today. The consensus is that the engine is not worth saving. So it is a new engine for Moony. Unfortunately, this process may take a month or more. Moony encouraged us to continue our voyage with the promise to meet up in the Bahamas. Sadly, we agreed. We will spend tomorrow with them helping them apply for the INS extension. Not a happy day!
SV Aanoosh (Kip and the Sheltys) left this morning with the goal to head for the Bahamas. We lost 4 dogs in two days on I dock. We miss them!. We still have Ramsey and Bailey and a plethora of cats. Still, we miss Koby (forgive my previous misspelling of his name) walking down the dock and we miss Rodney, Willie, and Felicia barking at him and us.

We sadly planned our departure from Fort Pierce when Neptune said "Let the weather window disappear!" And so it did for over a week. That coupled with a quick delivery of Moony's new engine convinced us to stay. It didn't take much convincing. Our cruising plans are , of course, changing. We will see what they are when we finally leave this place. BTW, Fort Pierce Harbourtown Marina is a great place to stay. The staff is outstanding as are the patrons. We will soon be celebrating our two month anniversary here at Ft. Pierce.
Nancy and Wayne on SV Dances with Dragons will be leaving shortly to attend weddings in Texas. They have been a great comfort to SV Jule III and Moony. A couple of weeks ago, Moony, Jule III, and Dragons jumped in their dinghies and headed for downtown. When we headed back, our dinghy motor died. Wayne and Nancy were kind enough to tow us back to the marina. Ann got drenched while Bob somehow avoided all the splashes.
