Voyage 2023: Chapter 3

13 Aug 2023, An Outing to the Great Country Farms, Bluemont VA, 38 46.368 N/ 076 33.66 W

It was Karen's turn to pick the place and time of our next outing. She suggested the Great Country Farms out in the piedmont of the Blue Ridge mountains. It's a 'picking' farm with country type amusements, restaurant, and live music. For a geezer like me, it's almost like a piece of peace. I get the impression that Karen is a fan of this place also. We are already planning a trip here for 2024.

14 Aug 2023, Barbobasea, 42 09.061 N/ 079 04.246 W

Mattie and I headed up to Kennedy NY to again visit Barb and Bob, formally from SV Barbobasea, and Leesburg FL. This is the second time I visited since the passing of Miss Ann. They are quite close to us. We didn't do much this year as we are all slowing down. Bob is losing more of his strength and Barb is coping with effects of her advancing Parkinson's. But it doesn't seem to worry them much!

We stopped here on our way to visit Joe and Yvonne (SV Modaki) from Owen Sound and stopped again on the way back. As I was leaving to go back home, Bob came out, shook my hand and said "Goodbye".
