29 Jul 2017, Shelburne, 43 45.708 N/ 065 19.374 W

Wow! New sign for Shelburne. Other than that, same Shelburne.
We love this town. We were hoping for race burgers and race sausages on Thursday but a memorial service preempted Thursday race night. However, we got to say 'hi' to most of the regulars at SHYC including Jason, Mary, Dave, Clarke, Gail, Ken, and the girls (Jerrica, Claire, and xxx). We rented the same cottage as our hurricane hole in 2015. Very cat friendly.
We took a quick trip to Peggy's Cove off of Margaret's Bay. We stopped at Liverpool for a quick look-see. Nice place but mostly a working harbour. At Peggy's Cove there was no room to park. It was mobbed! So GPo dropped off the gang, and looked for a place to park on the big road. Almost two miles later he found a place to park. They day was cool so the walk was not bad. Meanwhile, Lilli and Grandma shopped until they dropped and then they checked out the lighthouse.
We visited Lockeport several times as it has many things to see. We never sailed into the port as it is more of a commercial facility. We had lunch with Mary Scott at the restaurant off the harbour (where her daughter works). Food was good. So was the company.
Another time at Lockporte, we met Sam Scott, the harbour master of Lockeporte (and husband of Mary). He gave us a tour of the place, how it changes with the seasons, and what new projects are in store for Lockeporte.
We discovered a beach right outside of Lockporte which Lilli took a fancy to. It had shallow water, sand, rocks, and us. Grandpa did some walking; Grandma did some watching; and Lilli did lots of playing. We may check out Lockporte on Jule III in 2018 if we can make the trip up there next year (many bribes later). While back at Shelburne, we visited the Farmers Market, Boxing Rock Brewery, Sofia's restaurant (several times),and of course the Yacht Club (many times).

31 Jul 2017, On to Lunenburg and Mahone Bay, 44 22.536 N/ 064 19.29 W

On the road again. Lilli and Matti are all cozy in the back of Grandma's Sorento. Scheduling for this leg has hard to do. Not many cat friendly hotels nor B&Bs so we could only get a one nighter in Lunenburg and another in one nighter in Mahone Bay.
At Lunenburg, we stayed at the Top Mast motel which has a splendid view of Lunenburg Harbour. Last year we were moored in this harbour with SV Over Budget. Lovely town without being stuffy. We had only a little time to actually shop in the town but GPo and Lilli managed to get tee shirts and stuffed animals.
Bob always explores (by foot) when we 'tie up' somewhere. This day, he got lost and found a part of the Berlin Wall; yep the real Berlin Wall. We don't know why it is there but it is there. Google Maps was acting up that Day and Bob finally had to ask Ann to fetch him. Embarrassing.
Nest stop is the Fairmont House in Mahone Bay. Our home for the night is a pleasant B&B just off of Mahone Bay, operated by Michael. Michael is very friendly, especially with kids and cats. The house was built in the 19th century and has been well preserved. Good stop for all of us.
Mattie Kay was very taken by this place. She liked all of the nooks and crannies and the wide window sills. Lilli liked the cable TV and Grandma liked the air conditioner. Poor Grandpa had to sleep in a big closet without a/c. Today, Michael served us a great breakfast with sausage, eggs, ham, pancakes, juice, and coffee. Not bad. If we sail to Nova Scotia next year, we will certainly stop here.
Bob did some exploring and did not get lost this time. He managed to get a picture of two of the three churches on Mahone Bay. He also found a coffee place that was open at 0615 in the morning. But he did not find any tee shirts. He did check out the local marinas for prices on mooring balls. Maybe.
