1 Jan 2004, Day (Not sure), Orlando to Naples (sorta), 28 21.524 N/ 081 23.791 W

It's the day after Christmas. We left Manatee Hammock two days ago to visit our friends in Orlando. Having trouble with the GPS because of antenna position on new van van. Yes, Ann got Bob to buy a VW Rialto 22' RV. Hmm.

Well, better start packing up.	Talk to you all shortly.

5 Jan 2004, Down in SW Florida, 25 59.496 N/ 081 35.737 W

On 2 Jan '04, we started the day by walking the 'kids' where we noticed an ambulance and a fire engine across the street. The driver of the truck was visibly shaken so we expected real problems. We learned later that the father of the folks living there had a fatal heart attack. We headed out around 0900 heading for Collier Seminole State Park near Marco Island. We stopped by Wally World (aka Wal-Mart) to provision. Of course Ann bought out the store. As we headed towards Tampa, we encountered yet another series of traffic jams. We saw no less than 4 major accidents on the 75 mile stretch of I-4 between Orlando and Tampa.
We arrived at C-S park at 1530 an promptly tied up in the slip (rather the camp site. Park is smaller than we remember and the facilities a bit 'tired'. The kids love sniffing around but we have to be careful with the fire ants. Their ant hills seem to be almost everywhere. Bob was thinking of renting a canoe but had second thoughts when the 'log' in the middle of the basin started to move. It is reported to be a 13 foot alligator. Maybe next time.
On 4 Jan, Bob and Barbara, formally of SV Barbobasea, arrived. Bob did an expert job of backing into the site. It was great seeing them. They are looking for a house to buy and detoured their search to say hi. Ann got a call later that day and learned that her brother was in the hospital with undetermined internal bleeding. Everything is under control except the source of the bleeding. Later, Ann had to generate invoices for our business and email them to our customers. Work is never too far away.
