Voyage 2024: Chapter 3

Yep, its that time again, and we are in Marco Island again. This will be my 3rd year without Miss Ann to share the Charter Club. Less painful this year as the kids and g-kids are so helpful in my transition. We had the whole gang here plus Chris added some team kitchen games (mandatory). I was not too interested but when you are pressured with the kids...what the heck. The games were great: paper airplane races, (I forgot the rest except the marshmellow thing). Maybe I liked them so much that I won two gold medals with my team member, Collin. My man; we rule!!

19 Jul 2024, Land Voyage to New England, 44 06.264 N/ 069 05.964 W

Mattie can not travel to New England with me so I am solo in the KIA. Stops include Bristol RI, Rockland ME, and Orford NH. We chose Bristol as our stopover town so that Rockland would be a short drive the next day. I stayed at a B&B a few blocks from the waterfront. Our visit by water was nearly ten years ago. We anchored in Newport but took the bus to Bristol several times. Here is the home of the Meatloaf Mountain at one of the Irish Pubs.

I left the B&B around 0930 and arrived at the Landings Marina in Rockland. Jinny and JW were waiting for me in the parking lot; we hugged; then I scooped up my stuff and we dingy-ed back to SV Over Budget. We were underway the next morning heading to Fox Head Thoroughfare and Seal Cove. We overnighted there, and headed to Camden for lunch and another anchorage the next day. The following day, we headed back to Rockland, and later, we were off to to Orford, NH.
