24 Sep 2012, Projects, Provisioning for Jule III for New Season, 38 46.626 N/ 076 33.906 W

We have been on the Jule III for a couple of weeks while 'on the hard' getting her ready for the trip to Wilmington and ultimately to the Leeward Islands. Buster (Phipps Boat Works) refurbished our rub rail and it looks great. Sammy Jane likes being 'on the hard' as she can roam the deck. The older crew (us) are finding that the ladder gets steeper every year.
Today Jule is on the travelift being 'splashed'. Finally back on the water. We have two days to bend the sails, fresh food provisioning, and find a weather window to travel the 10 nm to the SSCA Gam on the Rhode River. The weather man is being kind, Quantum Sails delivered our repaired sails, and we are loading the boat with food. Looks good.

30 Sep 2012, The SSCA Gam, 38 52.992 N/ 076 31.572 W

Wednesday morning found us leaving Herrington Harbour (Deale MD) heading for the Rhode River for the Annapolis Gam of the SSCA. This year there are many interesting talks from the cruiser community, including Nigel Calder and the founders of ActiveCaptain.com. We took our normal anchorahge position about 200 meters SW of Green "7". We get to watch everybody arriving and leaving. We were nearly two days early and there were already 40 boats at anchor.
We were fortunate to have Denise and Wolfgang of SV Moony as boat guests for the Gam. We had a great time participating in the presentations, talking to other cruisers, and talking about our upcoming trip to the Leeward Islands. They left today for Germany for their yearly trip for family, friends, and medical updates.
